With the aim of inspiring the children of Nuremberg to eat more heathily while having fun in the process, the BioMetropole Nürnberg (Organic Metropole Nuremberg) has dedicated a section of its BioMetropole website to its youngest residents.

Filled with ideas and activities for primary school children and going by the name of “Bio Brotbox Kids” (Organic Lunch Box kids), young visitors to the website can try out delicious recipes themselves to fill their lunch boxes, download humorous stickers to print out, colour in and adorn their own lunch boxes with, try their hand at farming by planting their own vegetables and even take a fun quiz about animals. Also on offer are branded lunch boxes with the BioMetropole logo and packed with lots of information material on organic food.

The Bio Brotbox Kids project is part of Nuremberg’s overall strategy to encourage young people to eat a broad diet of organic food that is healthy and fresh. It is recognition that the acceptance of organic food needs to start in young people. When young people see organic as normal and – above all – tasty, the acceptance of organic food as the “normal” way to eat will grow.
