Organic Cities Conference in Vienna
On 9 November 2021, Organic Cities Network Europe held the conference “Organic Cities – Wien is(s)t nachhaltig” (“Vienna Is Sustainable/Vienna Eats Sustainably”).
Throughout the day, experts from the City of Vienna and from across Europe came together for a hybrid event (virtual and in-person) to share best practices, demonstrate the environmentally sustainable strategies developed to supply the urban population and to showcase the initiatives implemented by Vienna to mitigate the effect on the climate.
The conference members also addressed the European dimension: how to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and the appropriate political steps that needed to be taken to safeguard vital resources and ensure compliance with the SDGs, the Paris Agreement and the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact.
On this page, you can find various media (photos, videos, PDFs, prezi presentations) from the day.
Through ORGANIC CITIES WIEN IS(S)T NACHHALTIG we want to promote the expansion of organic agriculture in Vienna. This will ensure healthy, sustainable food on the plates of the citizens of Vienna, while at the same time securing and creating urgently needed jobs.

Who’s who at the conference
In order to put names to faces and to enable the conference members to better network with each other, the conference organisers set up a “padlet” page where the various members could introduce themselves. Happy discovery!
